Margaret Phillips

Margaret Phillips holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Tennessee, and a competency certificate from the Institute for Family Studies in Sarasota, Florida — a two-year program concentrating on structural, strategic, and generational emphasis.

She has been a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy since 1986 and has been licensed by the state as a Marital and Family Therapist for almost four decades.

She served with her husband, Gary, as a missionary in West Africa for four years and in ministry together for twenty. They were married for 55 years until his passing in 2023. Together they have three sons, thirteen grandchildren, and — presently — four great-grandchildren.

Margaret is an active member of Christ Church Nashville and continues her lifelong passion for classical piano. She is the author of The Marriage Ark: Securing Your Marriage in a Sea of Uncertainty, and the sole proprietor of Soaring Christian Counseling.
